Special Needs and Disability Activities

Work with Special Needs & Disability groups and schools

The Music Pool fund raises for and commissions our delivery partners Encore, to play and work creatively with children, young people and adults in special education: in special schools, Pupil Referral Units, for students with Educational and Behavioural Difficulties, adults with a range of physical and learning disabilities.
We recognise that Music, song and other related arts can work as therapy and be an outlet for otherwise frustrated emotional expression.

Over the years, we have worked regularly with Herefordshire's special needs schools, providing a range of appropriate, interactive workshops as a fun, stimulating outlet for their pupils, teachers and carers.

The work also includes a successful, biennial integrated dance project 'JIGSAW', in partnership with Dancefest, which gives performance opportunities for independent and school groups of children, and also adults.
