After the great success of Flavours of Herefordshire Festival 2012, The Music Pool were asked to programme the entertainment across the weekend for a second year by Visit Herefordshire.
There were a few changes this year, with Flavours of Herefordshire 2013 festival site being concentrated very much at the Cathedral Close and High Town, at the heart of the city and a new principal sponsor found in Cargill.
As with the previous year, the free programme of entertainment covered a wide variety - including, music, comedy, theatre, dance, magic, jazz, folk and blues and featured the reappearance of some acts who were a big hit at 2012's festival, as well as welcoming a host of newcomers.
Busking opportunities were opened up to local musicians and bands, including involving some young people who took part with The Music Pool's very own Livewire project. We also opened up performance opportunities to Hereford College of Arts, whose Performing Arts students provided some street theatre.
The street performance programme featured: Leominster Morris, The Juggling Chef, Fairly Fresh Fish, The Fastest One-Man Band in the World, Kiegan Vallely - Hypnogician, Cecily Byard & Micky Baines (Stiltwalkers) and Nicola's School of Dance.
Music came courtesy of: The Jackhammer Blues Band, Livewire Acts, Key Green, Hop-Pickers' Feast and other local musicians.
