Dead Man Singing was a Heritage Lottery Young Roots project. Run by the Music Pool in Hereford it explored the life and work of Herefordshire-born poet John Masefield (1878-1967), one of the great storytellers of English poetry.

Over a hundred young people aged between thirteen and twenty worked with writer-director Christine Watkins, musical director Pete Thorogood, composer John Hymas, choregorapher Janene Wyatt and textile artist Angie Hughes to create a dynamic piece of music theatre, performed in June and July 2006.
