New Livewire Website and Video Launched!

15th May 2017

Livewire, The Music Pool's Youth Music project launches new website and video, thanks to renewed funding.

The Livewire project continues to go from strength to strength, thanks to the hard work of the project managers, Nicky Jaques and Chris Butts and funding support from Youth Music, People's Postcode Lottery, The Brit Trust and donations.

The latest developments for The Music Pool's long-running youth project, which began in 2009, is a dedicated website for the project:

The website was needed in order to have a central focus point, where information and resources on The Music Pool's popular youth music project could be easily accessible to the general public.
"The sheer size of the body of work Livewire has generated over the years, meant that we needed a dedicated website, where all the great photos, original music and videos could be shared with the public." explained Mina, General Assistant at The Music Pool, "Not only that, we needed a way for the future developments of the project, in terms of seeking sponsorships, fundraising, etc, to be fully resourced and supported and it became increasingly obvious that it wasn't possible to achieve it on Livewire-specific social media pages alone."

The website launched at the recent Livewire Central gig, along with a brand new video about the project, shot and edited by local filmmaker Ed Kowal.  The dedicated Livewire team have been working hard since autumn last year to collate and document on film, the importance of the project - working with some of the young people who attend Livewire; to give them a voice to communicate the influence the project has, and continues to have, on their lives.

The video can be viewed on the new website: in the 'Sights and Sounds' section, as well as on Livewire's youtube channel.
