Merry Christmas from The Music Pool

23rd December 2016

The Music Pool release montage video featuring some of their projects, as a fond farewell to 2016.

The Music Pool have created a small video, featuring 2 Youth projects and the ever-popular Garrick Singers, a choir for older and retired people.  As part of the local festive calendar, Livewire, The Voice Academy and The Garrick Singers were invited to perform at various Hereford venues.  Footage was taken at these events and The Music Pool have now edited some of the highlights together as part of their seasonal greetings!
Livewire performed at Old Market Hereford, The Voice Academy at The Courtyard and The Garrick Singers entertained an audience at All Saints Church, Hereford.

Livewire is a youth music project which gives young people the opportunities to explore their creative, musical ideas and help them to develop their skills, as well as giving them gigging experience.  There are three main parts to the project: a regular weekly drop in session, a week-intensive course during school holidays and bespoke tailor-made music workshops for young people in PRUs, Schools and other Youth Groups.  The project is funded by Youth Music and West Mercia PCC.

The Voice Academy is a brand new weekly Glee-style vocal session for young people aged 13-20year old, led by Beth Melling.  The group meet every Thursday (term-time) at The Courtyard where the young people work on vocal techniques, harmonies and performance skills.  This project is run in partnership with Beth Melling and The Courtyard.

The Garrick Singers is a choir, led by Jon Watson, for older and retired people.  The group meet every Monday (term-time) at The Courtyard where they cover a large variety of material from traditional to SATB arrangements of popular music.  The project is run in partnership with The Courtyard.
