Uiscedwr
The latest manifestation of Uiscedwr features the original and magical pair, Anna Esslemont – fiddler and singer - and extraordinary rhythmic virtuoso on the Irish Bodhran, Cormac Byrne, who’s recently turned down the chance of touring with Seth Lakeman in order to stay with the trio. They’re now joined by guitarist James Hickman to create a new and gorgeous version of the sound that won them the BBC Young Folk Award in 2002. A captivating way with anything from a bunch of reels to dark and mysterious songs, original arrangements and appearances this year at festivals all over the country confirm their place at the forefront of a new and passionate commitment to folk music amongst younger people.
